Born in Bellingham, I moved to this area when I got married since my husband was living here already.
In your free time what do you like to do?
I like to do family outings, take long power walks, do hot yoga, try out local restaurants, read, listen to Spanish music…
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Having a solid family and raising my daughter while also continuing my career and passion of teaching fitness.
Something others might not know about you:
I grew up playing violin, entering competitions and even touring Japan with my high school orchestra along the way.
Write a short biography of yourself:
I grew up teaching myself gymnastics and then later competed in gymnastics through the end of high school. Shortly after, while attending the University of Washington, I completed all of my fine arts credits in dance and went through the school’s fitness instructor training program. I earned two national certifications in group fitness instruction, and since then have been teaching a wide variety of group fitness classes for the past 25 years. I originally started teaching hi-lo aerobics, and then went on to teach step aerobics, total body conditioning, fitness style bootcamp, water aerobics, HIIT, ab lab, BOSU, steel physiques, barre, and my own creation that blends many classes into one, Hardbodies. In addition to teaching group fitness classes, I’ve had my own personal training business for 22 years, and I’m actually still training some of my original clients! One of my very favorite things to do in life is to teach a fun, upbeat, intense, musically-inspired fitness class that inspires an electric energy in both me and my class members. I instantly developed a passion for teaching fitness classes when I first started out, and the passion is still just as strong, even to this day!
