About Laura
Where were you born?
Washington, Iowa. My husband is from Everett, Washington. We met in college at The University of Utah. After we finished our schooling he was hired in the Everett School District which brought us back to his hometown.
In your free time what do you like to do?
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Playing board games, gardening, hiking, traveling, camping, paddle boarding, watching movies, and exercising.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
It’s hard to pinpoint just one greatest accomplishment. I think getting married, having a family, and taking advantage of opportunities to learn and grow throughout my life is a great accomplishment.
Something others might not know about you:
I have three boys, am addicted to popcorn, and love warm sunny days.
A short bio:
I developed my passion for fitness in my early adult life. I realized how good I felt both physically and mentally when I was exercising regularly. I’ve participated in a variety of workout formats and feel they each bring something wonderful to my life. I thought about becoming a fitness instructor for several years but fear and self-doubt kept me from pursuing that interest. In 2016, I started to look into teaching classes. With great support from family, friends, and other instructors, I got certified in Barre, then PiYo, and then got my national certification as a Group Fitness Instructor. I’ve been teaching Barre and PiYo since 2017 and in the spring of 2018 became trained as an Orangetheory coach. It’s been a wild ride, getting out of my comfort zone and challenging myself nearly every day but I’ve loved the challenge and learning experience and love being able to associate with others who share my interest in fitness and feel blessed I can be a part of their fitness journey.
